Sweetened condensed milk expiration

I just realized the cans of condensed milk in my pantry expire 8/07! It's horrible to ask but any chance they are still usable?

The safest option would be to assume not (though my grandmother reckoned that anything in a tin was safe to eat as long as the tin wasn't bulging at the ends, and she survived into her nineties ...)

as one of the other posters said, if the can's not bulging, it's probably ok.

there's so much sugar in that stuff, it would take a while to spoil. I'd eat it.

Apparently, the expiration date is determined by the manufacturer, and usually just means there's a decline in quality, not that it's become unsafe to eat.

YES! <.<;;; THat way, if it's discolored (but still safe to eat as long as it's not bulging) it doesn't matter at all XD

Anyone have an easy recipe? I've never made this before?

Put it in a pan with an equal quantity of unsweetened evaporated milk and a vanilla pod and simmer, stirring constantly, until very thick (ie when you draw the spoon across the bottom of the pan it leaves a clear trail).
