waffles from pancake mix?

Stupid question, but I don't know the answer.

I have a bag of Krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix. My boyfriend prefers waffles (and frankly, so do I as they're easier to cook :)). Can I use the mix to make waffles? It doesn't have any waffle instructions on the packaging. Should I do anything different/special with it in order to make waffles?

Thanks. :)

My Krusteaz pancake mix has directions on the bottom of the back of the package.

1. Blend 2 cups mix, 1 1/2 cups cold water adn 2 tablespools of oil together. Batter will be slightly lumpy (Do not overmix).

2. Pour batter onto lightly greased and preheated waffle iron.

3. Cook waffles until steaming stops, about 5 minutes, or until golden brown.

Good luck!

Hi 8 year old post! This totally saved breakfast this morning. Their website said 2.5 c mix with 1.25 c water and 2T oil... it was like crumbly play doh. Thanks!

Crumbly play-doh? Yikes!!! Does sound like a disaster.

Good to know those old posts help someone.

The only main difference in making waffles with the mix is that you add a bit of oil to the batter. This is more to help the waffle not stick to the iron. If you have a non-stick surface in your waffle iron, I find that if you spray it with Pam and not put in the extra oil, you can use the pancake recipe...and spare yourself a few calories.

Good luck. My husband and I love waffles too. :)

waffle mixes
I got tired of just putting up with the grocery store stuff and found some neat mixes on Amazon. Yea, I know Amazon but the stuff was pretty good. I especially liked the FlavorKakes. I found out I could make waffles, pancakes and even scones and breakfast cakes with it. Thanks
