Uses for onion dip

I made some onion dip for our Oscar party yesterday and now I have a ton of it leftover.  It is just the packet of onion soup mixed with sour cream.  It is quite tasty but I am not going to get through the whole thing just dipping veggies.  Can anyone think of any clever ideas on how to use this up?  Thanks!

Maybe as a bread spread for a sandwich. Or perhaps use it instead of milk for mashed potatoes? Also, of course, baked potato topping.

I second all of the above ideas! Just use it how you would normal sour cream - with chilli or curry?

I guess I don't normally use a lot of sour cream. We had chili at our Oscar party that I made but I only like chopped onions and cheese on it.

It would probably be tasty if you spread it on top of chicken or pork chops and baked them.

Yeah I was thinking pork chops might be tasty.

dip chips in it, mix it into chili, on a baked potato, or anywhere else you'd use sour cream. I love onions though, so I'd put it on anything. It'd probably be really good for fajitas.

Oh, fajitas is a great idea.

You could add some to Jiffy cornbread mix and make moist, oniony cornbread.

i put sour cream or any creamy thing into all my chicken stuff it just mixes w the chicken juice and turns into a creamy broth.

Use it as a spread in a grilled cheese. The onions and tang of the sour cream go really well with it.

Stir it in some hot noodles for a quick sauce.

And I second (and third) the mashed potatoes idea and brushing it on some chicken before baking. If you wanted to get really fancy, you could cut the chicken up, dump the dip, chicken, rice, and some water or chicken broth in a pot and cook until rice is tender and chicken is done.

Another idea would be to do a cheap version of beef stroganoff - cook up some hamburger, toss in your dip and a can of cream of mushroom soup, and serve over egg noodles. A good friend of mine told me how to do this, and it's fantastic.

Thanks, that is a good idea. Since you use sour cream in stroganoff anyway I am sure it would just be even tastier.

I recent used sour cream onion dip in my meatballs. They were soooo tasty.

1 lb. ground sirloin
1/2 c. onion dip
1 egg
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/2 package of spaghetti sauce seasoning (McCormick's)
mini mozzarella balls (stuffed in the center of each meatball)

Sooooo tasty!
