Ingredients:
-2 Cups Flour
-1¼ Cups White Sugar
-1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
-¼ Cup Unsweetened Baking Cocoa
-¾ Can Cheerwine
-½ Cup Buttermilk
-2 Eggs
-2 Sticks Softened Butter

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Mix together dry ingredients
3. In separate bowl mix Cheerwine, buttermilk, eggs and butter
4. Gradually mix in wet ingredients
5. Bake for 35 minutes
6. Slowly pour the rest of the can of Cheerwine over the cake to soak
7. Let cool and top with Sour Cherry Glaze

Thanks for the recipe! So, I take it that Cheerwine is a cherry-flavored soda and I can sub it with a local counterpart (if I find one)? :)

Yes - I would say Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke or something similar - maybe cream soda and cherry coke would work, too?

It is kind of like a cross between Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke :)

Hmmmm....since that is not regional to me out on the Left Coast, can I sub either of those? I'd prefer the Cherry Coke.

OMG FJDKSADSFSA!!! CHEEEEEEERWINE! O_O DJFSSDA!! HOLY MOTHER OF DKJFSADFKSLDA!!! i haven't had that in 15 years! D: i used to drink that ALL the time back when we lived in NC...and once we moved to chicago D: i would TOTALLY make a cake with cheerwine.

i wonder if i could order it online? i miss the stuff

Since this is the first I'd even heard of Cheerwine--having spent 90%+ of my life in Southwestern Ohio may have a lot to do with it--"Cheerwine Cake" had the sound of something Bilbo Baggins or the school cafeteria at Hogwarts would serve.

LOVE this comment, lol. My daughters had a hard time getting over the "wine" part. After they got over that they were caught up on the fact that we were letting them have caffeine.
