Is there an alternative in my home for a cheese cloth? About to start making latkas and i don't have one! Google isn't helping. TIA

I've used a double layered nylon stocking when making cheese as a substitute for cheesecloth.

Any other type of cloth? I don't have cheesecloth either and just use tea towels for thinks like latkes.

I just squeeze out the moisture from the potatoes in between two tea towels

Maybe a regular kitchen towel then a paper towel since you're just needing to remove moisture.

A big strainer with very fine mesh, or any kind of (immaculately clean) fabric that is loosely woven.

I use a gauzey muslin tea towel. Any thin woven towel/cloth works so long as it's clean.

A muslin or a flour-sack towel (AKA a tea towel) would work. Or a chunk of a clean, old sheet, if you don't want to mess up a tea-towel.

I just squeeze out as much as I can... I've used paper towel before. And once things get watery as I'm cooking the latkes in batches, I simply just don't scoop up the water and kinda hand drain it off into the sink. I know that's not all professional by any means... but I've never had anyone turn their nose up at my latkes.

Tea towel, I find it works better than cheesecloth.

A plain old white cotton pillow case. You can use it for everything-hanging fruit mash for jellies, wringing out shredded potatoes, draining yogurt or cheese whey, anything you'd use a cheesecloth for.
